 Dark Toad Sprites
« Thread Started on May 15, 2002, 11:19pm »

These are some sprites I've made of a evil warrior Toad. Eventually he will be a bad guy in my comic. What do you think?

The head of Toad from Mario Advance (with new colors) and a custom body. Its my first attemp at making sprites.
Does anyone no how to make it so the sprite only shows up and not the white around it?

I still don't have a real name for him. Something along the lines of poision, venom, mushrooms, darkness, evil...

K, I just got this off a tutorial on how to make smileys...if it makes no sense, tell me and I'll send you the word document or if I can be bothered, stick up the pictures

5.) Finish the details of your smiley and select the Fill tool again, select a color you haven't used yet (i like to use bright green) and fill the areas that you want to be transperent:

6.) Next click 'File' then 'Save as...'. Change the "Save as Type" to "Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif)" and save:

7.) A message pops up telling you that some color info will be lost, just click yes:

8.) Next click 'Image' then 'Attributes' again, check the use transparency box and click "Select Color":

9.) Click on the color which you picked in step 5 (for me, bright greed, it is selected in the picture below, it has a black border around it):

10.) After your Background color is set it shows up in the bottom left hand corner behind the foreground and background color. Click 'File' then 'Save':

btw: if you can't save it as a .gif then open a .gif file in paint first, after you do that you'll be able to save your images in a .gif format
